To the knowledge of all, this church has been over four hundred years (400) since its inception. This church was built near the seashore and when you enter it you will be amazed at the magnificent creations painted when you look up at the ceiling. Many have traveled and toured this place and their country of origin. and the front part of this church is known as a grave of learned men and there are bones and personal utensils excavated and it is now in the care of the Museum to see all the Artifacts unearthed in front of the church .

Boljoon (also spelled Boljo-on) began as a small Christian settlement named Nabulho. It became a visita or chapel of ease of Carcar in 1599, with the small chapel being dedicated to the patronage of the Virgin Mary.
